Aloguinsan’s community-managed river tour remains one of Cebu’s most awarded eco experiences. Ride a baroto through mangrove tunnels, watch for birds, and reach the limestone mouth of Tañon Strait.
December to May usually means clearer water at Hermit’s Cove. The river cruise runs year-round when tides and weather allow. Aim for morning departures.
Take a southbound bus via Carcar toward Aloguinsan (about 2–3 hours). From the poblacion, habal-habal rides continue to Bojo River and Hermit’s Cove.
Walk-ins are sometimes possible, but packages with lunch should be reserved at least a day ahead. Daily visitor numbers are capped to protect the reserve.
If you have one morning, start at Bojo River at high tide. If you prefer swimming, go to Hermit’s Cove early, then return via the farm or plaza.
